Forever Knight was created by James D. Parriot and Barney Cohen, about a 800 year old vampire who while trying to atone for his sins becomes a homicide detective in Toronto, Canada while also trying to regain his mortality. He is helped along the way by Dr. Natalie Lambert, a coroner and the only human who knows Nick's true identity. But on the other hand his master Lucian LaCroix is always there to stop his son from reaching his ultimate goal of mortality. The show first premiered as a movie in 1989, which had Rick Springfield playing the lead of Nick Knight but when it came to talks about doing a weekly TV series due to various reasons it was never picked up. In 1992 they recast the lead with Geraint Wyn Davies and after a few script changes Forever Knight made it's debut in the spring of '92 on CBS but was cancelled after the first season so in the fall of '94 USA Network picked it up and the show was on until May of 1996. Even though it was never a ratings hit it has become a cult favorite with thousands of fans all over the world, who continualy strive to see the show come back or perhaps a movie and hoping that the three seasons we are grateful to see in reruns on the SciFi network are put out in a video and DVD collection. |
