Sweet Dreams, Lucien

by Megan Madonna

As dawn approaches in deadly silence I willingly surrender to the champagne sweetness of my dreams Only there Beyond the opaque curtain of wakeful reality Does he allow nature's truth to reign Refusing to be denied Oh how I savor the eternal ecstasy of oneness As his blood rushes to embrace me Dancing fiercely through my veins While he viciously engages with me in mutually exquisite exsanguination Passion explodes individuality Our bodies tremble in exaltation Until at last, as one, we reach that coveted state of divine awareness I am him He is me Nothing else exists Blissful torture, endure Would that this dream were as immortal as I Who clings to the final wisps of its taunting sweetness As the sun descends into inevitable night I wake to loneliness A single tear traces a crimson path down my cheek And I long for the sunrise once more
