Nevermind That For a Game of Soldiers A Wordpile; LaCroix's Lament by the sea, after Last Knight by Gehirn Karies

Once again I stand alone on the edge
at the beginning
Sea mist so pure in its scent of decay
Wind so fierce it boxes my ears

As much as I enjoy their company
The moon and the sea have always laughed at me
I curse the tides that drag me down
I shun the moods that kick me around

I see nothing on the horizon
I hold nothing in my grasp

I never could walk into the sun
The price is far too high
I can't turn back
I've gone on ... too long

I haven't fit into the fold since infancy
A trait that never did bother me
Lost my faith before I understood
the implications
Yet, how can one have faith in powers
who allow such misery?

This fallow heart was broken when I got it
Forever on the mend
A season of losses
Eternal lifetime of pain

I left the one I love behind
on the giving ground
immersed in loneliness, death and shame

It is ironically cruel
This endless game
