When Warriors Love

by Leslie GS

When warriors love, can that love bring them peace, Their battle borne to where others find rest? Proud necks, unbending, grant them no release, Their every word a barb, each act a test. Forever dark, forever bright, two souls Entwined eternally in struggle fierce, Submitting never to the other's goals: The son, the father, his love's heart would pierce. And which of them can dare give that word voice? How long can hearts endure with no respite? Though one's success impugns the other's choice, Down shields, proud warriors, hold; find peace this night. This one night, let love's ease flow through your blood, Lie heart to heart, grant healing tears their flood.
