This was conceived in a moment of utter madness just before I had to  
teach class. Apologies to all the Nunkies Anonymus out there: 
 
Highest Bid 
 
"Nicholas, this is unforgivable." Lacroix's irate face appeared  
behind Nick's computer screen. "How can you be so disrespectful?" 
"Aw, come on, let's give the NA a treat. And the bid is already at  
$1000." 
 
Lacroix calmed down a bit at that. 
 
"Really? But still, I expect an apology." 
"What did you have in mind?" 
"I want you to apologize live on CERK tonight. I've got a reputation  
to keep in the community." 
 
Nick gulped. Maybe he had gone to far this time? 
"And you will spend the day with me." Lacroix leered at Nick who  
grinned back. 
"OK." 
 
Lacroix looked at the screen. The utter humiliation. But then … 
Somebody had just paid a small fortune for his pair of red silk  
boxers with the words "I love Nicholas" stitched on them. 
 
Damn Nick, damn e-bay!
