This is a sequel to 'The Cure'

The Ailment
LaChanda

Natalie looked down at her knee, the bruising looked terrible but it really didn't hurt that much. "Well maybe I killed the nerves, huh, Sidney?" The cat looked up from licking his paws and yawned. "By the way where were you last night when..." Natalie stopped in mid-sentence not wanting to think about how LaCriox had tricked her and hurt her. It wasn't a rape she agreed to let him, but it was a cruel thing to do to her...to Nick.
Natalie looked in the bathroom mirror at her eyes hoping that no one would know she had spent the day crying. She knew she would see Nick tonight at work, how would she face him. Natalie swallowed back a sob, well he probably assumed I wasn't a virgin all the time I've known him, why worry myself about it now. Natalie grabbed her purse and looked at Sydney, "Mother will be back soon, Sweetie."

Nick sat at his desk wondering about his dream last night. He wasn't really dreaming about anything he had just gone to bed about 2 hours into his sleep he was jarred awake. He could of sworn he heard Natalie cry out in pain. He hadn't seen her since last night when he declined her invition to 'the tear-athon', he just didn't like the idea of seeing her sad or crying. "Hey Nick, are you in there?" Tracy asked, her eyes questioned him more with concern. "Yeah Trace, I had a strange dream last night and..." Tracy giggled, "Really Nick you're not one of those people that read things into their dreams are you?" Nick laid down a file he had been reading when his thoughts about the dream got his attention. "Not really, Tracy."

Natalie said her hello's to various people as she entered the room. Her knee had gotten a bit stiff from sitting at her computer and typing out reports. She limped past Nick and Tracy to give reports to another detective and then turn to see Nick and Tracy. "Nat are you okay?" He asked. "Coffee table...BIG coffee table," is all she said as she left. Natalie walked out of sight of Tracy and Nick and tried to collect herself, she closed her eyes and her mind begged her heart not to let her cry.

Nick looked at Natalie curiously as she disappeared around the corner. Natalie usually seemed upbeat at lunch time, often he would decline her invition to lunch but she always asked him to go. "Tracy I'm going to
lunch. See you in about an hour." Nick said as he got up.

Natalie was back sitting at her desk and toying with the chinese take out that Grace had brought her back for lunch. She must be catching a cold it smelled terrible and tasted awful. "How's the knee?" Nick asked.
Natalie looked up from her seat Nick was standing at the door. "I hope I didn't startle you, I know you don't like that." Nick said as he walk over and sat on the edge of her desk. Natalie smiled softly then looked for a moment looked into his eyes, in her dreams she could drown in those eyes or even be swallowed up by them she didn't care which. Natalie pulled up her skirt a little to show Nick that lovely shiner on her knee, it had fadded from being black and blue to a slight discoloration. "Maybe it's the panty hose Nick, I swear it was black and blue this morning." "Ah, an injuried fair maiden," Nick joked. "Funny Nick, I thought I broke my knee cap last night." "Shall I kiss away the pain?" Nick leaned forward and kissed her on the forehead. Natalie giggled, "But it doesn't hurt there."

Nick heard it again, as his lips neared her head, the cry of pain. He smelled her as he pressed his lips to her forehead. 'Blood,' it was a smell a vampire knows well. "Nat did you cut yourself last night when you hurt your knee?" Natalie blushed and sat the carton of chinese food by Nick. Nick wished after he said that, that he could pull that question back in time to just being a thought. Natalie got up and went to the coffee maker. "Want some?" She asked offering a freshly filled cup to him. "I'm late back to work Nat. Come over tonight, I know this is odd but I rented 'Interveiw With A Vampire' I feel compelled to watch it." Natalie pressed the cup to her lips...stopping just short of her first sip. "But you hate those 'silly' vampire movies." "I know must be all the hype about it." Nick said. Natalie giggled, "Nick, the hype was about 6 or 7 years ago." "Oh Nat a good movie never fades with time." Nick winked at Natalie and disappeared out the door.
Natalie sipped the coffee into her mouth and forced herself to swallow it. Oh I'm in trouble now with this cold coming on even the coffee is horrible, Natalie thought to herself.

LaCroix busied himself with checking the new *wine* order in...it was just a soft whisper, a incoherent thought. It stunned him, he felt as if he had *fathered* a new fledgling and they were having a differcult time keeping their thoughts from bleeding over to him. The feeling faded away and he thought perhaps it was Nick and that damn *cow nectar* he only permitted himself.

Natalie called for Sidney as she openned the door. Sidney sat poised on the bookshelf gazing down at Mother as she came in. Only a small light in the kitchen was on and she reached up for Sidney and pulled him off the bookshelf not realizing she had 'felt' his presense before seeing him. Natalie stroked her kitty and played 'kissy face' with him. She teasingly growled at Sidney and was rathered shocked when Sidney hissed and clawed at her. Natalie dropped Sidney to the floor, "what's got into you?" She questioned. Sidney scurried into her bedroom and under the bed. Natalie undressed and prepared to take a quick shower then go over to Nick's loft, she hummed to herself a song she wasn't sure where she heard it before. The water felt hotter than usual and turned her skin pink but she thought a good hot shower would make the cold take a back seat to her life. Natalie washed herself and looked at her legs thinking about shaving them. She didn't give a thought to it as she hurried to get dress and be over to Nick's the bruise on her knee had faded completely away.

Vachon finished the last bar of music and LaCroix nod. "A very nice arrangement, is it new?" Vachon smiled, "Urs and I wrote it yesturday." "Of course you will play it tomorrow night for our customers." LaCroix told Vachon. Vachon agreed as he took a sip of his wine.

Natalie smiled at Nick as he openned the door to the elevator. "I thought you were going to stand me up." Nick said. Natalie pulled her coat off and draped on a dinering room chair. "You look like your dressed and ready for the next ice age Nat." "I think I'm catching a cold, I've been having chills." "Oh first an injuried fair maiden and now a sick one, I'll have my work cut out for me." Nick teased. Natalie laughed and sat down on the sofa. "How about a nice hot cup of cocoa to warm you up Nat." "Thanks, sounds great. Is the movie cued up or shall I do it?" "She's ready to roll just as soon as I finish getting the cocoa and popcorn for you." Natalie snuggled up to Nick and fell asleep sometime before little Claudia was killed. Nick wrapped his arms around Nat and held her only moving when he realized that sun was rising and he didn't want to get burned. Nat woke and looked at Nick the shutters seal light from the room. "What time is it?" She asked. "About 6:30." Nick replied. "I have to get home, I need to feed Sidney and make peace with him too." Nick laugh, "you're going home to make 'peace' with a cat?" "I upset him last night, I was playing 'kissy face' with him and I guess he wasn't in the mood." Nick sighed, "lucky cat." Nat picked up her coat and headed for the elevator.

LaCroix looked at Sidney and shoved him off the sofa. "Where is she?!?" LaCroix demanded as if Sidney would tell him anything. Sidney's eyes narrowed in contempt and then realized Mother was at the door with her keys rattling just before she openned it. LaCroix stood up from the sofa. Sidney ran for Mother, Nat caught him before he could make a get a way down the apartment buildings hall. "Hello Natalie." Natalie looked up startled. "What are you doing here? Another 'Cure' perhaps?" " Natalie, I know it hurt the other night and you didn't enjoy our encounter I wanted to see you last night." "Why to trick me again or is this really suppose to be hurting Nick and I'm just caught in the crossfire?" LaCroix crossed the room to her, "I've come to finish what I started Natalie, I've come to make love to you." "LaCroix, it's daylight outside and your on thin ice here." "I told you it was better this way Natalie, please believe that." LaCroix pulled Natalie to him and kissed her longingly, his tongue gently caressed her own. Natalie felt herself weakening to his touch. She felt compelled to want him to hold her, to touch her, to be with her...to be within her. "Please," she whispered, "don't do this to me!" LaCroix kissed her hard feeling her body surrendering to his touch. He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom. Natalie wanted to cry out, wanted to stop him, but more she wanted him. He undressed and laid her in her bed leave her little white lace panties on her. He looked at her laying there and slowly undressed himself humming the tune Vachon had played for him last night.

Natalie seemed in a daze, she smiled and hummed the final notes of the song. "Where have I heard that before?" Natalie questioined herself. Lacroix rubbed his hand slowly up Natalie leg he smiled softly when he noticed the bruise was gone. Natalie looked up at Lacroix and realize he was pulling her to the edge of the bed. LaCroix leaned over and kissed Natalie lightly on the lips she responded with a smile and a soft moan. LaCriox ripped the panties of Natalie with a growl in his throat and forced his entire penis into her with one hard thrust. Natalie screamed in pain. Gasping and sobbing, he watch her, in her agony and pulled himself out of her and fell to his knees and lick Natalie gently as his hard thrust caused his recently deflowered virgin to bleed. His tongue lapped in and out of her circling her clitoris and teasing her, the bleeding had subsided and he was doing this for her pleasure now. Gasping she clawed at his shoulders and begged for release...crying out in joy as she came. Weakly she lay on the bed trying to caught her breathe. He pulled her to the middle of the bed and kissed her as he again mounted her. Her vagina yeild to him and wrapped itself around him, made for him, made ONLY for him. She kissed and nibbled his shoulder as he pumped himself inside her. Natalie slowly licked his earlobe. LaCroix moan...softly she kissed down is throat and teasingly licked his juglar vein. LaCroix thrust got harder and more determined he growls and moans mixed both in pleasure. Natalie bit LaCroix, knowing that she didn't have fangs but yet wanting her lover to have all that she could give him. In his own surprize he came hard and forced himself to the deepest levels of her. Natalie and LaCroix kissed and fondled one another until they surrendered themselves to sleep.

Natalie woke up alone and looked around for LaCroix. Had it been a dream...her thighs reminded her it was no dream. Natalie looked out the window to see the darkness of the winter days arrive as early as 6 in the evening. Sidney was impatience with Mother, he wanted food NOW! "Meooooooowwwwww!!!" His voiced demanded that Natalie feed him or he would adopt a *new* Mother to honor with his delightful presence. "Okay Sidney, Mother is coming." Sidney stood on the counter pacing back and forth. Natalie quickly entered the kitchen and place his food bowl on the counter as she pour the kibble into his bowl Sidney started to eat it. "Oh poor thing you must have been really hungry," Natalie cooed at her little four legged man. Sidney jumped back as Natalie reached to pet, he hissed at her, then struck at her with his paw. He jumped off the counter and hid himself from her under the livingroom chair. The shower burned her this time, damn super, usually he about freezes everyone out now he's playing games with the hot water heater. Natalie adjusted the water and began to sing her song that she had been humming throughout the last few days.

LaCroix sipped his wine as he watched Vachon sing the last word of the song. It was almost too early for their regular customers to be in but when the boss tells you to start singing, you had better start! "Well done Javier", LaCroix said as he poured Vachon a glass from a very rare private stock. Vachon sipped the special vintage, "are we celebrating LaCroix?" LaCroix set down his glass, "if not today soon. Javier." LaCroix smile and got up to walk into his office.

"Good heavens Natalie, you look terrible." Grace said as entered for work this evening. Natalie shivered, "I've been catching cold, I have been trying to ignore it but it's getting the best of me." "It looks like it caught you." Grace said as she approached Natalie. "Now are you going to be a good girl and let me take your temperature so we can excuse you from work this evening or am I going to have to call for back up?" Grace asked. "Really Grace I'm okay I just need to rest for a moment." Grace looked skeptical and folded her arms. "Okay, I guess that means I call for back up." Grace picked up the phone, "I think Detective Knight's phone number is around here somewhere..." "Okay Grace you win I'll let you take my temperature and then we'll get back to work." Natalie sat with the thermometer in her mouth feeling like a 6 year at school in the nurse's office. The phone had rang and Grace was busy chatting to whomever. Natalie watched her second hand on her watch. 'Time', she pulled the thermometer out of her mouth and looked at it. Natalie's mind screamed in shock, the doctor inside her insisted on taking her pulse to be sure. For a second or two Natalie felt confused and disoriented, she stood up and pulled the phone from Grace's ear. "You're right I'm booking out on...on a sick day. I....I just can't do it tonight. I'm sorry..." Before Grace could get out that Nick was on the phone Natalie was out of the room. Grace spoke to him about Natalie going home ill and hung up the phone. Grace picked up the thermometer and looked at it reading 92.6...hmmm must of shook it down, now I'm worried she thought to herself.

LaCroix watched as Vachon repeated his earlier performance to a new crowd. Natalie came storming in..."LaCroix, I need to talk to you. NOW!!!" "Of course, would you care for a drink? We have some excellent vintages here." Natalie ignored his offer. "As you wish my dear come into my office with me and we can have a discussion." Natalie followed Lacroix into his office stopping for a moment she listened to *her* song Vachon was singing. "Now Natalie, this is a surprize, what is it that has you in my humble establishment?" "What..." Natalie stammered and then collected herself, "what have you...done to me?" Tears stung her eyes. LaCroix sipped his wine and studied her for a moment. "I offered you 'the cure', you accepted." "You tricked me! I...I don't want this." Natalie sobbed out. LaCroix pulled her to him, not as a lover but as a father. He held her close and tried to calm her. "Natalie your mortality is weakening, let it go...my dear...let it go." He whispered to her. "No!" Natalie cried out as she pushed LaCroix away from her. "How did you...when did you." She questioned, she has to know. "My sperm contains blood my dear, you were a bleeding virgin. You submitted not only your virginity to me but your whole self to me." LaCroix held the glass of *wine* out to her. "Drink my hungry child, you'll feel better."

Natalie sat there for hours in the park, staring up at the stars, she could feel her heart mourning for her. She sobbed. The winter air should of chapped her face but it didn't feel cold anymore. LaCroix whispered a call for her to come back to him, he wanted to take care of her. Natalie ignored his beckoning, she knew he could find her if he wanted her that much. Nick walked over after spotting her on one of several of his flights in quest of her. "Natalie are you okay? Grace said you went home sick. What are you doing out here?" Nick questioned. Natalie looked up at Nick and quickly averted her eyes, she didn't want him to know just yet. Nick sat down beside her, he rubbed his hand up her back. "Nat, I was worried about you, where have you been?" Natalie hugged Nick and kissed him gently on the cheek. "Thanks Nick, I had to see...someone." "Nat, please you're scaring me. Let's get you inside and in a nice hot bath." He encouraged. Natalie just hugged him closer to her and laid head on his shoulder. Nick tried another approach, "Okay, it's not a fit night out for man nor beast. Natalie I'm both, I should know." Natalie looked up at Nick and giggled softly she kissed his cheek again. Then slowly gently she pressed her lips to his neck took her last human breathe and slowly sank her fangs into Nick's neck.

LaCroix felt his youngest fledgings hunger being satisfied by his Nicolas. Feed well my Natalie, feed well.
